Elderly man dies in crash in Wallingford

A Landrover and HGV tanker collided on the A4130.

The vehicles crashed between the Crowmarsh Gifford roundabout and the village of Nuffield.

It happened at the junction of Old Icknield Way near to Oakleywood in Benson yesterday after 11:30am.

The driver of the Landrover, a man in his 80s from Oxfordshire, sadly died. Specialist officers are supporting the man’s next of kin.

The driver of the HGV was uninjured.

Our investigation is ongoing, no arrests have been made in connection with this incident.

Investigating officer, PC Andrew Harper of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Abingdon, said: “This collision has sadly resulted in the death of a man, our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
