Witnesses sought after crash involving mobility scooter and ambulance in Abingdon

A has been seriously injured.

An ambulance and a mobility scooter collided on the A415, Stratton Way after 3pm today.

It happened at the junction of Bath Street. Road closures are currently in place on Stratton Way.

The driver of the mobility scooter has been taken to the JR Hospital. 

Senior investigating officer Inspector Gavin Biggs,of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit said: "We are in the early stages of this investigation and are on scene at this time whilst we continue to make enquiries and recovery work will start in due course.

"We would ask anyone who was a witnesses to the collision or may have dash cam footage to please get in touch and call 101 on 822 10/8/18."

Police are advising motorists to avoid the area.
